About Artist

Chinmayee Behera is a native of Bhubaneswar, Odisha, INDIA and learned to art since my childhood from my grandmother. I studied B.V.A. in B.K. College of art & crafts, BBSR and completed my M.V.A. in Utkal University of Culture, BBSR, Odisha in 2015. My art practice focuses on exploring the unseen expanses of the human mind and psychological activity in different and experience with nature.

Artist Statement

My paintings are often impulsive and deeply inspired from surrealist practice to Indian contemporary art. These works are based on several subjects, most of which are derived from my own and present political, social, history, cultural and environmental and farming issues. From creation to transform my surface I consider my artworks that carry a transcendental and fictional quality. They allow me to step outside of the shell of my mind and this reality, enabling me to experience and express the thought beyond imagination.
My work is a constant search for the best way to interpret the ideas that I have about myself and the world I live in. I do not limit myself to one medium, style. I normally show bright, vibrant and joyous color scheme with detailing elements in my painting. Always I am very much involved and I like to do more realistic with best possible ways. Therefore, I have to involve and do enjoy the whole process, while I am working. I am always continuing my work through the nature, my culture, and using objects of day-to-day life.
