About Artist

Hansa Milan Kumar was born in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, INDIA in 1981. She is a promising abstract artist. She opines that abstract work represents her nature and personality. Hansa’s art philosophy stems from her silence within. It is not the silence of being alone, but the peace that is found deep down in the soul amidst routine sounds and noise. Her strongest source of inspiration is Nature which she sees, observes, feels and experiences. The space and time in this universe are made of innumerable layers that are working silently and peacefully which is beyond human comprehension. It is this silence Hanse tries to relate and connect personally and artistically.

Artist Statement

I create abstract art, not only because I enjoy it but also, because it reflects who I am as a person. I believe that my working style is one way in which I can comfortably express myself. For instance, just because I enjoy stillness does not indicate that I enjoy solitude. Here, I'm referring to the inner calm that exists at a deep level of the soul. As I continued to consider silence, other ideas crossed my mind. Although there are many layers to the objects in the cosmos, they nonetheless go about their business in a way that is beyond our comprehension. The layer can be found across all of nature. The layers that make up our body are numerous. We can see stones, trees, plants, leaves, and flowers. We are filled with emotions like grief, happiness, and fury, among others, that are not apparent yet exist in many levels of who we are if we can see. Being present in layers, all of these things operate in silence and are housed in one location. They are united by their mutual silence. I aim to convey this through layers of silence and harmony.
