About Artist 

Mahesh Padia was born on 23rd December 1961 in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Fine Paintings from M.S. University of Baroda in 1989, followed by a Post Diploma in Fine Painting from the same university in 1993. He has held numerous solo and group exhibitions across the country and has received several prestigious awards for his work.

Artist Statement

Mahesh Padia's paintings depict geometric patterns and logical compositions with vibrant colors, creating a tranquil environment. His paintings are a collection of different compositions of houses that are often ignored. Mahesh's attachment towards town houses or town common places is evident in his art. He paints depopulated, nondescript, or non-picturesque sources and is intrigued by making art from a mundane subject. Mahesh has been revisiting and painting areas where he grew up and locations that he experienced as a child for over twenty-five years. Mahesh Padia currently lives and works in Vadodara (Baroda), Gujarat.
