About Artist

Born in 1952 in Shahpur, B.R. Bodale is a self-taught painter who has a deep connection to folk art. Despite being formally trained, he believes in expressing himself through painting as fine art, drawing inspiration from the essential human experiences of birth, life, love, laughter, myth, reality, and other innocent activities of rural life. His work is characterized by a grassroots approach, rooted in memories from his childhood, and focuses on the simple lives of rural folk. Bodale's art captures the essence of this world and seeks to reinvent it on canvas.

All artists are driven by the desire to give physical expression to their ideas and emotions. B.R. Bodale encapsulates this with his mantra, "Be your own light". By universalizing his personal experiences, he creates representations of people and events that hold significant emotional weight for him and with whom he shares a deep psychological connection.
