About Artist
Renu Bala is the first female sculptor artist from Pathankot district. She has experience in cutting large stones up to 30 to 40 feet, metal casting, and wood carving. Renu holds a master's degree in Sculpture from Rajasthan University in Jaipur, where she was a gold medalist. After bypassing the UGC net, she worked as an Assistant Professor in Rajasthan University before leaving her job to pursue her passion for sculpture. Today, Renu works as a professional artist in the field.

Artist Statement
As a sculptor, I create artwork that explores spiritual truth through simplicity and beauty. I believe that the gestures in a sculpture express its emotional weight best. My artwork captures the essential meaning of a story and speaks to me on multiple levels. The creative process is deeply personal and an expression of my life journey, convictions, and struggles. I discover myself and the world in new ways as I sculpt in bronze, wood, stone, and mixed media. My works depict mythological beliefs and the face of Indian society, culture, Indian art history, and world architecture.
As an artist, I believe in representing my own Indian society and culture from century to century through my artwork. I always strive to represent my imagination and create different phases of Indian culture, connecting all subjects through a white thread of spirit.
