Utpal is passionate about creating relationships between images and weaving different stories and narratives through his art. He derives imagery from various sources and his everyday experiences. Utpal creates multiple stories by combining images in a collage. His artwork is characterized by chaotic and absurd landscapes juxtaposed with figuration, giving them layers of meaning. Utpal has been recognized for his talent and has received the "Elephant In The Room" grant in 2021 and participated in the "Student Kochi Biennale" workshop in the same year. Some of his recent shows include "Select Art" and "Artflute" in 2021, and "abir first take" in 2018. Additionally, he was shortlisted for the Gujarat Rajya Lalit Kala Akademi in 2019.

Artist Statement
I create works that combine chaos and stillness, inspired by everyday visuals. I use images from various sources to build up layers and convey emotions. Each image has its own story, which I use to create collages that satirize the lives of ordinary people. I experiment with different elements to modify the work at each step.
